Today we are going to cover a great topic named History About 1984 Riots

It  was on 13^th October 1984 , few congress leaders organized series of planned riots against sikhs in india where they targeted gurudwaras , sikhs shops , sikh house and killed sikhs by shuoting slogans of ‘’kill sardars’’ and ”indira Gandhi is our mother” they not just killed innocent sikhs but also gangraped many women and burned them aliveas per official report 2800 sikhs were killed in delhi alone 3350 sikhs were killed across nation but many sources tell that

More than 17,000 sikhs were killed in 40 cities across india.

But questions pops in everybody mind

· WHY CONGRESS LEADERS ATTACKED SIKHS?

· WHAT MADE THEM TO KILL INNOCENT SIKHS ?

· WHAT HAPPENED AFTER 1984 ANTI SIKH RIOTS ?

Today I am going to give the answers of all these questions and painfully facts about 1984 anti sikh riots in which many innocent sikhs were killed cruelly .

From 1972 , where assembly elections was going in punjab in which congress won and akali dal lost after defeat , akali dal demanded Anandpur sahib resolution which  stated to give more power to state then central govt and it was congress who reviewed resolution and rejected it.

In 1982 Jarnail singh BHINDRAWALE who was the leader of KHALISTAN movement joined akali dal and lauched dharam yudh morcha to demand Anandpur sahib resolution,

And it was year 1983 when situation in Punjab got worse, where sikh militants stooped bus and shot 6 hindu passengers andlater it awas prime minister INDIRA GANDHI dismissed congress led state govt and imposed president rule across punjab for next 5 months , riots happened across Punjab in which 410 peoples were killed and 1180 people were seriously injured which includes civilians and police officials

To stop anti national activities , indra Gandhi decides to launch blue star , where she ordered to arrest Khalistan leader jarnail singh bhindranwale for which he decides to hide in sikh holy place golden temple .

It was June 4,1984 govt acconces curfew in parts of Punjab and asked people in golden temple to vacate place immediately but within no time , Khalistan started firing and in return army responded with heavy gun fire and it was June 10 operation BLUE STAR ended after 10 long days .

Ass per report of Indian givt 400 people were killed including civilians and military persons but many witness tell that more than 1000 people killed in attack and many sikhs were unhappy and were sentimental hurt because of operation bluestar conducting inside golden temple where people started showing anger towards govt led by Indra Gandhi .

 After 4 months 21 oct 1984 Indra Gandhi was on the way to give interview along 2 of her sikh bodyguards in which bodyguards shots indira Gandhi where she was declared dead around 2pm in AIIMS and not to forgot police arrested kehar singh for planning attack on Indira Gandhi and later both setwant singh and kehar singh were sentenced to death and hanged in delhi tihar jail, on same day 31 oct 1984 RAJIV GANDHI took oath as prime minister where situation was out of control where mob led by congress leaders started attacking every sikh on road and started riots across delhi it was 31 oct 1984 (night 8pm) congress MP Sajjan kumar and trade union leader lalit maken met local supporters and planned attack on all sikhs across state by distributed money and weapons and next day morning local leaders were seen distributing IRON RODS to group of people where mob entered streets and burned property of sikhs and not to forgot they killed sikhs by shouting slogans of

“kill sardars” and “Indira Gandhi is our mother and sikhs killed her”

And it is said that congress leaders used voter lists and ration card list to mark houses of sikh with “S” so they can find sikh houses easily and burn them and not judt houses but also many shops were looted and burned.

This continued for next few days where mob not only killed innocent sikhs but they have gang raped many women by dragging them to streets and killed them by burning alive and it is said to be that more than 2800 sikhs were killed in delhi, 3350 sikhs were killed across nation and at least 50,000 sikhs were displacedbut as per many sources more than 17,000 sikhs were killed in 40 cities across india after few days of massacre, many sikh in delhi joined militant groups where they planned protest against congress in parts of Punjab and not to forget they assassinated serval congress leaders who supported riots and later 442 rioters in delhi were convicted in which 49 were sentenced to the life imprisonment and also cour suspended 6 delhi police officers for not taking action against riots and it was in year 2015 , BJP  led govt asked special investigation team to reopen case for which naresh sehrawat and yaspal singh were convicted and former congress leader Sajjan kumar was sentenced to life imprisonment by delhi high court  so that’s the end of short and simplified History About 1984 Riots.
